Pear Crisp Oatmeal

There's this thing called a rut and I often find myself in it. Especially at breakfast. Sometimes I'll go weeks eating the same 1 or 2 things for breakfast, sometimes alternating them for a little excitement.

One day I decided to branch out. And this is what happened. Yum.

Pear Cobbler Oatmeal
Source: Dani Spies

1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
3/4 cup water
1/2 a pear or apple, chopped up (peel it if you want--I didn't)
1 tbsp. of raisins
1/2 - 1 tbsp of maple syrup, honey, or agave
A few walnuts or roasted almonds, chopped
A pinch of cinnamon
A pinch of nutmeg

Directions

Put oats and water in a bowl and stir to combine. Microwave for 1 minute.

Remove and add raisins and pears, stir, and microwave another 1 to 1 1/2 minutes, or until thick.

Stir in honey or syrup and top with walnuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a little milk. Yum!
